MICPASSPORT HOST GUIDES
Ready for
your first song?
A practical path from connecting your account to welcoming your first singer.
These guides cover the current development version. Public downloads and subscription billing are not available yet.
Create and connect your account.
- Create a Host account, then verify your email and sign in.
- In the Windows Host app, click Account and choose Connect account.
- Check that the browser approval code matches the code in Host, then approve that computer.
- New shows belong to your connected account automatically. For an existing show, use Link this show to my account.
For a local development account server, choose Local development in Host. Verification links are saved in the server’s data/outbox folder instead of being emailed.
Start with your show and catalog.
- Open Host and start a show with a recognizable name.
- Import or update your karaoke catalog and check that your music files are available on this computer.
- Connect your VirtualDJ setup and verify playback before the night starts.
- Add a singer, assign a song, and check the rotation before opening requests.
Your catalog and media stay local. Host account linking saves show ownership, names, and dates. Singers can separately link their accounts to save completed-song details to private history. Media files stay local; public cellular joining is not enabled yet.
Let singers join from their phones.
- Connect the Host computer and singer phones to the same Wi-Fi.
- Open Connect singers in Host and enable singer connections.
- Choose host approval or auto-accept for new requests.
- Share the singer link or show the QR on the public display. QR links open the singer screen directly with the event code filled in.
- Singers enter a name, join, and search the show’s catalog for their song.
Already added someone to the rotation? Use Connect an existing singer and give that person their temporary connection code, so they keep their place and songs.
Put the show on the big screen.
Open the public show display from Host. Choose which sections to show: now singing, up next, rotation, and the join QR. If Host lists several network addresses, select the one on your venue’s Wi-Fi before displaying the QR.
The checkmark beside a singer means a song is selected. Public song-name overrides let you clean up filenames for the audience while keeping the original catalog information for the host.
Keep the night moving.
The QR opens a page that won’t load.
Make sure the phone is on the same Wi-Fi as Host, singer connections are enabled, and the selected network address is current. Guest Wi-Fi can block devices from communicating; ask the venue for a network that permits local connections.
A singer is already in the rotation.
Use the host’s existing-singer connection option instead of joining a second time. Enter the event code and temporary connection code on the singer page.
The account server terminal seems stuck.
When it prints the local account URL, the server is ready and waiting for requests. Leave that terminal open while using local accounts.
I only opened Vite and Host didn’t appear.
Vite serves the interface; Electron opens the desktop app. For a source checkout, leave Vite running and start Electron in a second terminal:
cd C:\Users\chris\micpassport\host
npm run devSecond terminal:
cd C:\Users\chris\micpassport\host
npm run electron
